The Victim Advocate shall be responsible for the provision of services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and their families to include victim assistance, community education, and volunteer management in the designated satellite center

and relevant service area., including but not limited to the following:

Victim Assistance:

1. Assess client needs and provide services as needed.

2. Provide individual crisis and support group counseling for victims and their families.

3. Provide support services for victims and their families to include advocacy, hospital and court accompaniment, information and referral, and resource procurement.

4. Provide follow-up services to victims and their families.

5. Provide staff back-up for volunteer victim advocates at night and on weekends on a rotation basis.

6. Maintain and enter services into database on a daily basis.

7. Complete necessary reports as scheduled.

Volunteer Program

1. Schedule and manage volunteers.

2. Maintain and enter volunteer statistics into database on monthly basis.

Inter-Agency Coordination

1. Represent Pee Dee Coalition and take an active part in related community task forces, committees. etc.

Community Education, Training, And Awareness

1. Provide community education and awareness on the issues of domestic and sexual violence and program services as assigned.

2. Document all community education and submit reports according to organizational policy.

3. Assist with the planning and Implementat1on of activities for special awareness months (Child Abuse Prevention, Sexual Assault Awareness, and Domestic Violence Awareness).

4. Actively distribute brochures, crisis cards, and materials throughout the community

5. Assist with in-service trainings for professionals

General Responsibilities

1. Be familiar with organizational goals and objectives and ensure compliance with required services and documentation.

2. Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Manual, Program Procedures Manual. and Personnel Policies. Consult supervisor with questions.

3. Participate in staff development trainings as indicated by supervisor. Summarize information and report accordingly.

4. Perform administrative functions as appropriate for position and meet organizational deadlines as indicated.

5. Prepare monthly service/activity reports for the Board of Directors.

6. Obtain Victim Service Provider certification within first year of employment and maintain annually by securing appropriate number of training hours.

7. Assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of building.

8. Work independently with minimal on-site supervision while maintaining regular communication with supervisors and organizational leadership. 

· Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or related field of study (Psychology, Sociology or Criminal Justice)

· Must have experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault

· Reside in the Greater Darlington Area

· Must be able to respond after hours to local hospitals to provide advocacy/support

The Director of Community Victim Services provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development for communitybased victim services, including satellite rape crisis centers, crisis response teams, and coordinated victim support initiatives. This role ensures highquality, traumainformed services for survivors of sexual assault and related crimes while strengthening collaboration across mental health, legal, medical, and community systems.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations

1.       Satellite Center Oversight — Direct the daily operations, staffing, and service delivery of multiple satellite rape crisis centers to ensure consistent, survivorcentered care.

2.       Service Coordination — Develop and maintain integrated service pathways across crisis counseling, advocacy, case management, and community outreach.

3.       Policy Implementation — Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including VAWA, VOCA, and state victimassistance standards.

4.       Quality Assurance — Establish performance metrics, conduct program evaluations, and implement continuous improvement strategies.

Interagency & Systems Coordination

CrossSystem Collaboration — Serve as the primary liaison to law enforcement, prosecutors, SANE programs, mental health providers, and social service agencies.

Systemic Problem Identification — Monitor and address systemic barriers affecting survivors’ access to justice, safety, and healing.

Community Partnerships — Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, schools, hospitals, and advocacy groups.

Crisis Response & Survivor Support

TraumaInformed Practices — Ensure all services reflect evidencebased, traumainformed approaches.

Crisis Intervention Oversight — Supervise 24/7 crisis response operations, including hotline, hospital accompaniment, and emergency advocacy.

Case Consultation — Provide expert guidance to staff on complex cases involving mental health crises, legal challenges, or multiagency involvement.

Staff Leadership & Development

Team Supervision — Recruit, train, and supervise advocates, counselors, and satellite center managers.

Professional Development — Develop training curricula on sexual assault response, trauma, cultural humility, and systems navigation.

Workforce Wellness — Implement strategies to reduce vicarious trauma and support staff resilience.

Community Education & Advocacy

Public Awareness — Oversee prevention programs, community education campaigns, and outreach initiatives.

Policy Advocacy — Advocate for improved victimrights legislation, funding, and system reforms.

DataDriven Reporting — Prepare reports for funders, boards, and community stakeholders.

Qualifications

1.       Master’s degree in social work, public health, criminal justice, psychology, or related field.

2.       5–7+ years of experience in victim services, sexual assault response, or traumainformed program management.

3.       Demonstrated expertise in interagency coordination, systems advocacy, and crisis intervention.

4.       Strong understanding of mental health systems, legal processes, and communitybased service models.

5.       Proven leadership, supervision, and organizational management skills.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, or related field of study (Psychology, Sociology or Criminal Justice)
• Must have experience with Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault
• Must provide services in Marion and Dillon County.
• Reside in the Marion or Dillon County. 
• Must be able to respond after hours to local hospitals to provide advocacy/support
• Must be able to attend after hours events

Responsibilities

1.       Provide direct services to victims including crisis intervention and support services.

2.       Perform administrative duties, as well as indirect duties including housekeeping, repairs, and cleaning.

3.       Possess knowledge of local resources for women and children.

4.       Always protect client confidentiality and the security of the shelter by enforcing house policies and guidelines for health and safety purposes.

5.       Communicate effectively with residents, staff, volunteers, law enforcement and other agencies in a timely manner.

6.       Must be able to supervise and assign the work schedule for all NWR workers to ensure all shifts are covered.

7.       Must be available to work at night, weekends, holidays, and overnight.

8.       Answer the shelter phone line and crisis line promptly, providing accurate information.

9.       Adequately document services in Collaborate and daily shift reports; assist residents in completing requests for orders of protection.

10.    Complete intakes and paperwork within 24 hours of residents entering shelter and follow up with daily goals.

11.     Assist with processing donations, distribution, storage and inventory.

12.     Must be able to lift and walk up and down stairs.

13.     Provide transportation, referrals, court accompaniment, and resources for residents.

14.     Provide superior communication when interacting with shelter residents utilizing trauma informed care approach.    

15.     Facilitate support groups and life skills groups for the women and activity/support groups for the children.

16.    Must demonstrate excellent listening skills, steady temperament, and effective problem-solving techniques.

17.    Complete Pee Dee Coalition Volunteer training within 3 months of employment.

18.    Adhere to agency confidentiality, policies, procedures, and code of ethics.

19.    Complete Victim Service Provider training within 1 year of employment.

20.   Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned and participate in shelter staff meetings as required.

21.   Must possess supervisory experience and demonstrate strong leadership skills
